Bonnie says that her metaphor for talking to the horses is that she is in charge of where the sunny weather will be. As you can see, it may be more than a metaphor.

In any case, Bonnie came to the barn to work individually with Annie, who sometimes has way too much energy to get safely to the arena to get turned out. Bonnie just worked with her slowly, walking her out of her stall, around the trailer, and into the pasture. It went so well that Tom and Ivy the Pig hid in ambush to surprise some bad behavior out of Annie but were unsuccessful.

After Bonnie showed us a few techniques, Patricia, Annie's primary care giver, gave it a try with excellent success. I tried it after she did and was a pretty miserable failure. Oh well, horses would be boring if they were easy.

After Annie's lesson, we all saddled up for a group clinic. We started out by listening carefully to Bonnie tell us about equine motion and gait. Note that some horse/rider combos were more interested than others: Suzanne and Kharin seemed to have personal topics to address. There were human kibitzers, but the equine variety were the most persistently interested: Cody and Nadia were rivetted, although they were too far away to really see everything.

I didn't take too many pictures during the clinic itself, I was too busy trying to figure out what to do next. The couple of pictures I got were of random events: Trisha trotting Nabi up into the canter, Patrica and Estee communing, and Eve and Sheba coming down after cantering
