Ms L and Kelly Tour the Arena
My Mother-in-Law, Kelly, came to vist this week (2/18/02) and wanted, no needed, to
go up to The Ranch to see Ms L, with whom she had formed a bond on her previous visit. I
mentioned this to Judy, who said "Does she want to take her out for a ride?" I passed the
question onto Kelly and the answer was an enthusiastic "Yes!"
We went up in the morning and I made Kelly groom Ms L - the less hair to shed on me. If
you look at the first few pictures, it looks like it's snowing around Ms L. After we got
her good and clean, we tacked her up. Ms L and I combined last week to break her Bozelle,
so she borrowed Ali's hackamore, and looked damned good in it, too.
We finally got ourselves organized and headed down to the arena. Kelly hadn't realized it
was quite as far up to Lawhalla's back as it is, so we had to build a Leaning Tower of
Cavellettis to get her aboard (don't try this at home! Should only be attempted by middle-
aged people with nothing to lose!) But she ultimately made it. Ms L was pretty nervous, as there
was lots of activity at the construction site, so we didn't stay long, but you can see that a good
time was had by all.
