We went up to Petaluma today (August 6, 02) and "interviewed" with Marian Sears, a Vizsla breeder and owner of Csardas Vizslas. After spending three hours with Marian and her four females in residence, we decided unanimously that we would go on the list for one of her pups.
Marian's four currently at home are Sparkles (faded orange/pink collar), the Senior Canine, age 10; Siren (red collar), the Junior Canine, age 1; and the two prospective moms, Flare (blue collar) and Leia (yellow collar). We checked them out pretty thoroughly: first we made them retrieve a ball and then we made them eat a treat. They were terrific at both tasks and met our criteria with flying colors. They were also really good at sitting on our feet, but we didn't photograph that.

Flare and Leia are scheduled to have their litters at about the same time, Flare on or about 18 August, Leia a week later. We fell in love with all the dogs - especially Sparkles - so, at this point, we don't much care about which Mom we get a pup from; we're pretty sure that any of them will be perfect.
